Reflections outside of work

What I think is important in this whole project is that I feel I have touched "deconstructionism" in every way, even if I didn't mean to.
"The Red Rope" I challenged traditional structures and meanings by using the figurative symbol of the red rope. By combining the red rope with everyday walking, I break the traditional perception of freedom and bondage. This breaking is reflected in both physical actions as well as conceptual and emotional ones. Deconstructionism similarly emphasises the deconstruction of traditional structures in an attempt to reveal the complexity and multiplicity of meanings behind them.
The red rope is a polysemous symbol in this series of works, which represents both bondage and freedom. This multiple interpretation fits in with the idea of deconstructionism, which advocates that things do not have fixed, universal meanings, but rather are polysemous and relative. My creation blurs the viewer's simple understanding of the red rope through the multiple interpretations of the symbols, thus triggering deeper thinking.
The technique of layering multiple videos creates a sense of relativity and diversity in viewing. Viewers are led to question conventional understanding and fixed meanings when confronted with this series of works, and to welcome a more complex and relative experience.

To add a small reflection: I myself think that this work is very successful in that I have combined the everyday and spiritual worlds with music and my own added media very well to make a clear statement. In addition I feel that the artist should be the one who asks the questions, the answers are instead given by the audience, and I hope that more people will answer my work.
